Rocco Whalen says this year’s Taste of the Browns event, slated for Monday, September 9 at FirstEnergy Stadium, is going to be a big one.
“It’s the 15th annual,” says the chef-owner of Fahrenheit restaurant in Cleveland and Rosie and Rocco’s restaurants, “and each year it’s gotten better and better.”
The beauty of the yearly event, Whalen and many attendees insist, is the combination of opportunities – for guests to meet team members and mingle with some of the city’s gridiron stars, while experiencing FirstEnergy Stadium and sampling food prepared by top local chefs.
Meanwhile, purchase of tickets to the Taste of the Browns event generates funds that go directly to support Cleveland Foodbank. For chefs, adds Whalen, it’s a chance to support a charity they hold dear while showing some love to their city and their home team.
“It’s probably the best possible way we can show people what we do, while helping the people who really need it,” he says.
