Limited tickets remain for Super Bowl party that pairs chefs and NFL players from each NFL market to raise funds and awareness for hunger relief.
The Taste of the NFL, a non-profit organization dedicated to kicking hunger in America, announces its complete roster of chefs and players representing each NFL city who will participate in its 21st annual “Party with a Purpose” taking place Saturday, Feb. 4 at Gleaners Food Bank of Indiana. The strolling food and wine event pairs a premier chef from each NFL market with a current or former NFL player to give guests the opportunity to sample fine cuisine, meet nationally-recognized chefs and rub elbows with NFL all-stars. Proceeds from the evening benefit hunger relief.
“Once again, we have drafted an impressive roster of chefs and NFL greats for this year’s event, including several returning players as well as a few ‘rookies’ who are sure to be fan favorites,” said Wayne Kostroski, founder of Taste of the NFL. “This event could not exist without the team effort from our chef and player representatives and the countless volunteers who contribute their time and talent to making the event a success.”
• Two chefs, Allen Susser of Chef Allen’s in Miami and Jack McDavid of Jack’s Firehouse in Philadelphia, have participated each year since 1992 along with their original player representatives. Susser is paired with Miami Dolphins Alum Dick Anderson and Jack McDavid is paired with Philadelphia Eagles Alum Jerry Sisemore.
• 2012 rookie chef representatives include: Chef Tory McPhail of Commander’s Palace in New Orleans for the New Orleans Saints; Chef Steve DiFillippo of Davios in Boston for the New England Patriots; and Chef Gaines Dobbins of Eureka Restaurant for the San Francisco 49ers.
• 2012 rookie Taste of the NFL player representatives include: Mack Bernadeau, Carolina Panthers; Morten Anderson, New Orleans Saints; and Bryan Braman, Houston Texans.

Highlights of this year’s “Party with a Purpose” include live entertainment by country star Sara Evans, special guest appearances by National Honorary Chairperson Tony Dungy, Culinary Host Ted Allen of the Food Network’s Chopped and TLC’s Cake Boss stars Mauro Castano and Joey Faugno. There is also a silent auction with unique sports memorabilia, exciting travel opportunities, culinary packages and more.

The Kick Hunger Challenge is an online-only fundraising campaign spearheaded by Taste of the NFL (www.TasteoftheNFL.com) and generously supported by the General Mills Foundation (www.GeneralMills.com/Foundation). This friendly “competition” pits fans from all 32 NFL teams against each other to raise money for food banks in NFL communities nationwide.
