Inspirational book recounts 20 years of capturing the human spirit of giving
Taste of the NFL, a nationally recognized organization known for its work to kick hunger in America, has announced the introduction of its first-ever book titled Bring Out The BEST! ($24.99 at www.TasteBook20.com)
With all book sale proceeds benefitting food banks across America, Bring Out The BEST! shares the story of Taste of the NFL’s first 20 years and how it has become an example of unleashing the human spirit of giving. The book shares stories and personal accounts from people of all walks of life who have been involved in Taste of the NFL’s mission to kick hunger. Through the words of volunteers, chefs, NFL greats, hunger relief advocates and others, Bring Out The BEST! shows how one simple idea with one simple purpose can impact the lives of millions of people.
Bring Out The BEST! is authored by Scott Murray, nationally renowned broadcast journalist, keynote speaker and author of Whatever It Takes. Murray spent 30 years with NBC (Dallas/Fort Worth and Washington, DC) as a multi Emmy-award winning television sports anchor. He has received the prestigious Silver Circle Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Academy of Television Arts and Science, among many other awards.
Wayne Kostroski, founder of Taste of the NFL and 2010 James Beard Humanitarian of the Year, was a contributing writer and the book’s mastermind. “Twenty years ago I had a nugget of an idea. I only dreamed it would still be inspiring people two decades later,” said Kostroski. “I hope this book serves as a vehicle to encourage and inspire others to find their passion for community giving. And, to put that passion into action like so many have for Taste of the NFL and our fight against hunger.”
Taste of the NFL’s mission is to raise awareness and financial support for the fight against hunger. The team’s efforts culminate on the eve of Super Bowl where it hosts the “Party with a Purpose®.” This annual strolling food and wine event pairs outstanding chefs from each NFL city with a current or alumni NFL player to raise money in support of food banks across the United States. To date, the team has raised more than $11 million from this annual event.
“Food brings people together. But what if food wasn’t available,” said Roger Staubach (legendary quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys and Pro Football Hall of Famer) who wrote the Foreword for Bring Out The BEST! “Think of the stress on each family member in this situation. We all have opportunities to help.”
Murray and Kostroski have self-published Bring Out The BEST! in tandem with Connecticut Color in Meriden, CT. Books sell for $24.99 and are available online at www.TasteBook20.com or by calling (952) 835-7621. Discounts are available for large-quantity orders for conferences, schools, commencements and business seminars.
