(January 9, 2018) St. Paul, Minnesota – Today, Taste of the NFL announced that classic American rock band O.A.R. (Of A Revolution), presented by Delta Airlines, will perform at the 27th Annual Party with a Purpose. A ticketed event to be held on Super Bowl Eve, Saturday, Feb. 3, 2018, the Party with a Purpose is a premier sanctioned NFL organization, which brings together chefs, players and fans to help fight hunger.
"I think this event will be very successful in raising money to help feed our hungry brothers and sisters,” said Marc Roberge. “We're proud to be part of a celebration that will serve a greater purpose.”
Notorious for performing intense and vibrant live shows, O.A.R. will close out the 27th Annual Party with a Purpose in what will be a celebratory night of eating, drinking and kicking hunger. With 13 albums, a string of Madison Square Garden sellouts, USO trips to Iraq and Kuwait, millions of albums sold, and shows around the world, O.A.R. continue to cover new ground creatively. The band is currently working on brand new music and will be touring across the United States this Summer.
Coming home for the first time in 27 years, this season’s Party with a Purpose® will be held at the Saint Paul RiverCentre (175 West Kellogg Boulevard) on Saturday, Feb. 3 at 7 p.m. The fun-filled evening honors two of America’s favorite pastimes—food and football. Taste of the NFL’s Party with a Purpose pairs extraordinary chefs from the 32 NFL cities together with current, Hall of Fame and alumni players from each NFL franchise. Chefs will serve over 45,000 tastings portions to over 2,500 guests throughout the evening.
“I am thrilled to be able to celebrate this year’s Party with a Purpose right where it all began,” says Taste of the NFL founder Wayne Kostroski. “As Party with a Purpose continues to grow, so has the need for hunger relief unfortunately. We are grateful to have the support of O.A.R. and proud to continue fundraising to provide meals to food banks and nonprofit organizations across the country.”
The efforts of Wayne and Taste of the NFL have resulted in more than 200 million new meals for Americans in need (many of them children and seniors), who have turned to their local food banks for assistance.
