Chef Spotlight: Kamal Rose, Tribeca Grill, New York Giants
Taste of the NFL welcomes Chef Kamal Rose of Tribeca Grill who will be participating in his first Party with a Purpose in New Orleans on Feb. 2, 2013. Recently named Executive Chef at Tribeca Grill, Rose started working at the restaurant when he was just 15 years old and worked his way through each station in the kitchen. He is eager to join his mentors, former head chef Stephen Lewandowski and restaurateur Drew Nieporent, in their longtime and passionate support of Taste of the NFL. Welcome Kamal!
Q: Have you ever attended or worked at a Taste of the NFL event? A: Tribeca Grill has been a part of taste of the NFL since it started, and now, as Executive Chef, I am looking forward to participating. I am a big fan of the NFL, and I’m happy to be part of an event that helps support so many people. Q: How did you get involved, what made you decide to participate? A: Stephen Lewandowski and Drew Nieporent have been mentors to me, and it is an honor for me to now be part of this great event. Q: What are you looking forward to about New Orleans? A: I look forward to cooking and tasting great food and to seeing the sites of a wonderful city. Q: Any ideas on what you will make this year in New Orleans? A: Shrimp Creole with Dirty Rice Q: What is your favorite dish to make/eat while watching football? A: Buffalo Wings – they’re a classic. . Q: Are there other activities you are involved with in your own community related to the hunger cause? A: City Harvest, Citymeals-on-Wheels, and Share Our Strength are three organizations that I am involved in. Tribeca Grill also participates in many charitable events throughout the year.
