CAKE BOSS CARLO'S BAKERY
95 Washington Street
Hoboken, NJ 07030
Buddy Valastro (center):
Buddy Valastro is an accomplished fourth generation baker born into the business owned and operated by his parents. Buddy grew up in Hoboken, New Jersey in an old-fashioned Italian family. He showed a flair for cake decorating at an early age.
At the age of 17, Buddy's father died. Suddenly, the only son had to take on the responsibilities of the patriarch. He thrived under pressure. With the help of his family, Buddy has taken Carlo's Bakery to new heights.
Today Buddy oversees the day-to-day operations of the bakery. That entails managing over-the-top bridezillas, dealing with unreliable suppliers and late deliveries, addressing complaints of walk-in customers, drumming up new business and keeping the peace in his family while executing hundreds of elegant cakes. Buddy has a big personality and an even bigger heart. He is the glue that keeps the family together.
Buddy is married to Lisa Valastro and they have four children; Sofia (16), Buddy Jr. (15), Marco (12) and Carlo (8). When he's not at the bakery, Buddy loves nothing more than spending time with his family. He also enjoys bowling and fishing.
Joey Faugno - Head Master Baker/Mixer (at Buddy's right):
Joe has been married to Grace, the eldest Valastro sister, for almost 20 years and works as a baker in the mixing room. When he's not at the bakery, he works as a firefighter, often coming straight from 24-hour shifts at the fire station to start a shift at the bakery.
Joey is referred to as a "hothead" due to his quick temper, but he loves what he does and is great at it. He's not at the bakery to fool around and sometimes can be a little cranky when he's just trying to get his work done.
Grace and Joe are proud of their two kids Bartolina (12) and Robert (16). Robert has started working part-time at the bakery when he has free time away from school and wrestling practice.
Mauro Castano (standing behind Buddy):
Mauro is Buddy's right-hand man and brother-in-law. He is married to Buddy's sister Madeline. Buddy and Mauro carpool to work everyday. Mauro was there for Buddy after the death of his father. He had a big part in helping Buddy build the business to where it is today. He's a great pastry chef and a better friend. Mauro has taught Buddy a great deal about life, business and being a man. Buddy considers Mauro the brother he never had.
Mauro and Madeline have three children; Dominique, Buddy and Mary.
