Freeman McNeil, a three-time Pro Bowler made famous for his excellent play out of the backfield, still holds the record as the Jets all-time rushing leader with 8,074 yards in 1,798 carries. During his 12 years on the gridiron, Freeman earned several other impressive distinctions, including being named the NFL league leader in rushing yards in 1982. In addition, Freeman is currently ranked 27th in the league’s all-time top 50 players for rushing yards.
