Jim Thrower

Jim Thrower was a three-sport athlete at East Texas State (now Texas A&M-Commerce) in basketball, football and track and field. He originally came to East Texas on a basketball scholarship, but it is in football where he excelled. After graduating,, he went on to a five-year career in the NFL. He spent two seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles and three additional years with the Detroit Lions as a defensive back 1973-75. Thrower is a McDonald's franchisee and is very active in the Detroit, Michigan community.
