Earl Morrall - Undefeated 1972 Dolphins
As a quarterback, Earl Morrall played for six teams, including San Francisco, which drafted him No. 1 in 1956, Pittsburgh (1957), Detroit (1958-64), the New York Giants (1965-67), Baltimore (1968-71) and Miami (1972-76). He became a Baltimore Colt in an August 1968 trade and had the greatest year of his career in ’68 with 26 touchdown passes. Earl led the Colts to the NFL Championship, was named MVP and won the NFL passing title. In 1972, he led the Miami Dolphins to the only undefeated season in NFL history, quarterbacking 12 of the 17 wins. Again, he won the AFC passing title and was voted MVP of the league. This year he will be representing the Undefeated Dophins.
