America's Second Harvest of Tampa Bay America's Second Harvest of Tampa Bay is an Affiliate Member of the national America's Second Harvest food bank network and service 10 counties in west central Florida. Since its beginning in 1982, the food bank has processed and distributed 90 million pounds of safe and nutritious surplus food to those who need it most. Through the food bank's combined efforts with over 300 partner charities and churches, America’s Second Harvest of Tampa Bay currently distributes enough food in a single week to provide over 50,000 meals |

America’s Second Harvest America’s Second Harvest–The Nation’s Food Bank Network is the largest charitable domestic hunger-relief organization in the country with a Network of more than 200 Member food banks and food-rescue organizations serving all 50 states. The America’s Second Harvest Network secures and distributes more than 2 billion pounds of donated food and grocery products annually; and supports approximately 50,000 local charitable agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens and emergency shelters. The network provides food assistance to more than 25 million hungry people each year, including 9 million children and 3 million seniors. Community Kitchen The Community Kitchen program provides culinary job training to underemployed or unemployed men and women. The program gives participants valuable kitchen skills while they transform donated food into millions of nutritious meals that are served to people in need. Courses are taught by professional chefs and include life skills and job-readiness training, as well as placement in career-track positions in the foodservice industry.
